Stunning Italian Villa
Ca de Stelline (house of little stars) is a stunning, newly-built Italian villa using traditional Tuscan methods and materials of local stone, terracotta, chestnut and marble.
It was built on the site of an old shed in the middle of its farmland. Named after not only the fireflies that frequent the garden, but also the very clear skies with zero light interference, due to its rural location. It is a very private property with panoramic views of trees and mountains, where the Apuan and Apennines mountains cross over in an unspoilt part of Tuscany.

Location
The house is accessed via a track on the hillside above the medieval borgo of Codiponte, with its ruins of a 13th-century castle and Clarisse monastery. Ca De Stelline is a hidden haven, with breathtaking panoramic views of tree-covered hills and mountains, where the Apuan and Apennines mountains cross over in an unspoilt part of rustic Tuscany. The house is within easy reach of the Cinque Terre, Lerici and Lucca. Access is easy from Pisa or Genoa airports and local train stations. There are plenty of beautiful day-trips available by train, bus, or by car, to places like Florence, Parma and Portofino.
Garden and Pool
Ca De Stelline’s thoughtfully landscaped garden has been carefully constructed with a palestrata to create the terrace; planted with cypress trees, lavender, rosemary, sage, and thyme. This enclosed characterful Tuscan garden, covered in climbing roses and jasmine, complete with pergola and covered seating areas, is a wonderful sun-trap by day and perfect to watch the sunset over the verdant forested Lunigiana hills with a glass of wine in the evening.
There are various fruit and olive trees below in the surrounding fields which are frequented with deer, partridge, porcupine and wild boar. Peregrines and other birds of prey can be heard and seen circling over in the valley below.
The private salt-water system infinity pool which is 4.5 x 9 metres has a decking area which accommodates sun-beds and a perfectly placed hammock at one end, with uninterrupted rustic views. The al-fresco dining table has a base found at the famous Mercanteinfiera market in Parma – with the marble-top, being sourced locally in Carrara.
